Jeff Johns

Head Sensei

Sensei Jeff Johns is a 3rd degree Black Belt in Judo has been involved with martial arts since the age of 9; he is the father of 2 daughters and has studied Judo, Pin Wha Kwa Kung Fu, and Isshin Ryu Karate. Jeff is a regional coordinator in Pennsylvania and a Certified Rank Examiner for the United States Judo Association. Sensei Jeff has trained many Champions from the Local Level all the way to the National Level. Jeff still continues to be very active in the sport by traveling to various clubs in the eastern side of the United States to teach and spread the Judo Spirit. Every year he travels to North Carolina to The Greatest Camp on Earth, which is one of the largest Judo workshops in the world, where he trains with some of the best judoka from around the world to continue his own training which he brings back to our club. While at The Greatest Camp on Earth, Jeff donates some of his own time to be a guest instructor working with the kids to help better their skills as well!   As with all of our Sensei, Jeff has Child Abuse Clearances, Safe Sport Abuse training, and Heads Up concussion training ensuring that SAFETY is his #1 priority for all students. Sensei Jeff has, and will continue to dedicate his entire life to Budo and Bushido.

Sensei Dave Campbell

 Head Sensei - Founder of ACJC

Sensei Dave is the father of 2 boys, and a retired owner operator of a heavy equipment company. Dave is a veteran of the Air Force where he first started training in Judo. Sensei Dave has been with us since the very beginning, founding the Armstrong County Judo Club in 1961, training and mentoring our students. Sensei Dave has dedicated his life to teaching Judo and making the world a better place.

Sensei Jerry Longwell

Assistant Sensei

Sensei Jerry Longwell is a retired school teacher and  father of four sons. As a 2nd degree Black Belt Jerry has dedicated a large portion of his life to Judo; and continues to teach and mentor our students enabling them to reach their highest potential.

Sensei James C. Long

Assistant Sensei

Sensei James Long is a retired teacher, accountant, and Army Veteran. Dedicating a large portion of his life to Judo, Jim has been a truly valued member of the Armstrong County Judo Club family. As one of our assistant Sensei, Jim works closely with our team members to make sure they’re performing to the best of their ability.

Sensei Jason Renninger

Assistant Sensei

Sensei Jason is the father of 2 boys and has been with us since 2017.  Jason has studied Judo, Tang Soo Do, and Ishiin Ryu Karate. Jason is a 3 time Pennsylvania State Champion, 2 time Silver medalist at the Pennstlvania State Championships, and Silver medalist at the 2018 Kettering Classic in Kettering Ohio. Sensei Jason is Safe sport, Heads Up Certified, and has a complete background check ensuring that the safety of all of our student comes before anything else. Jason enjoys teaching, helping our students achieve their goals, and is looking forward to many years of promoting the spirit of Judo.

Sensei Brian Butler

Assistant Sensei

Sensei Brian has been with us since 2019 and has trained in both Sambo and Judo earning wins in both arts. Sensei Brian won Gold and Silver Medals at the 2019 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Competition, Gold and Silver Medals at the 2020 Ohio State Championships, and a Bronze Medal at the 2017 SAMBO USA NATIONALS.  Brian, as with all of our Sensei is Safe Sport and Heads Up certified as well as having a full background check. This ensures that your training and safety ALWAYS  comes first.
